Some people insist on being in a studio when recording their podcast. That’s definitely not true! Below are some suggestions on traveling podcast recording gear.
Microphone
The Audio Technica ATR2100 sounds great, durable, super simple to set up and inexpensive. Really it’s a win win whether you’re at home or on the road.
Highly recommend this for anyone as you can use the USB connection to plug it into a computer or a XLR cable into a digital recorder like the one linked below on this page.
Lapel Mic
If you’re recording video along with your podcast it’s often a good idea to use a lapel mic so you can avoid the bulky look of a microphone. Inexpensive and they sound pretty good (not quite as good as the ATR2100 though).
(You’ll also need the converter below when using this into a digital recorder)
Digital Recorder
This is what the audio will be recording on. Specifically it will be going onto an SD card you can simply put in your computer upload to Dropbox and then we’re good to go.
You can plug two microphones into this to record at the same time.
Traveling Podcast Recording Gear
Don’t use a trip as an excuse to quit podcasting. Purchase some simple traveling podcast recording gear that you can take on the road with you and still get FANTASTIC sounding audio recordings.
