When producing a podcast it’s so much more than just throwing on an intro and outro and calling it a day. It really starts before the episode even begins.
I’ve had a lot of people ask me how to produce a podcast and here it is…
Defining the interview
I learned from Alex Blumberg in his Creative Live course he did (I wrote up some notes here)
After I do some research I know always try to answer this question.
I’m doing a story about X
and it’s interested because of Y…

I’m doing story about transitioning from corporate finance to golf instruction
And it’s interesting because they have a unique perspective and are doing very well
Understanding what to do with all the “tape”
After you have all of the content recorded for your podcast what’s next?
It begins with defining the best content from everything recorded. Making those the centerpieces of the episode.
After you have those core pillars of the episode you need to bring in additional commentary or narration that guides your listeners from Point A to Point B.
We’ve always found that scripting makes this process a lot easier and produces a better product.
You’ll also want to make sure to define some call to actions you can drive listeners to in this step so you can maximize your listener engagement and get more listeners involved with your business.
Audio Editing
After you have your basic script together and all of your narration and transition’s recorded it’s time to start editing the audio.
One trick to keep the episode moving along and the listener entertained is to use music during the narration and transitions in the episode. But make sure it’s not to long or to loud. It’s simply a tool to enhance the episode not be the centerpiece or overbearing.
Make sure to wrap up your final audio editing with some processing to level out all levels and bring everything to it’s optimum quality.
From there your ready to finish up the process with all of the
